Reverend Anna E. Mosby, MBA, MDiv

Rev. Anna Mosby

The Reverend Anna E. Mosby is a 3rd generation A.M.E. and native of Lincoln, Nebraska, where she received her spiritual foundation at Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal (A.M.E.) Church. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (cum laude), with a concentration in Finance, from the University of the District of Columbia; a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University; and a Master of Divinity (with honors) from the Howard University School of Divinity. She served as Pastor of Mt. Gilboa A.M.E. Church in Catonsville, Maryland, until her appointment as Pastor of St. Jude A.M.E. Church, in Germantown, Maryland, in July 2015.

Pastor Mosby accepted God’s call to the ordained ministry at Hemingway Memorial A.M.E. Church under the leadership of her father in ministry, the late Reverend Dr. William Robert Porter. While at Hemingway Memorial, Reverend Mosby served as an Associate Minister and the Minister to Women. While there, she coordinated numerous women’s weekend retreats, revivals, and monthly fellowships; facilitated workshops; and empowered all to excel through the power of Jesus Christ, and to love themselves and others.

She also served on the ministerial staff of Union Bethel A.M.E. Church, in Brandywine, Maryland, under the pastoral leadership of her spiritual father, the Rev. Dr. (now Bishop) Harry L. Seawright. Her responsibilities included Coordinator of Union Bethel’s second location, the Intergenerational Center (IGC), with responsibility for Sunday worship services and weekly Bible Study sessions. She led the Financial Literacy Ministry, which uses Bible-based principles to inform, educate, and empower the body of Christ concerning personal finances; and she worked with the Campaign of Grace and Glory Building Ministry.

Pastor Mosby is multi-vocational and active in church and community. She is the President of the 2nd Episcopal District Women in Ministry, providing leadership to nearly 900 female clergy serving in A.M.E. churches across Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina and the District of Columbia.  As a government Consultant, she manages systems development and implementation of several statewide projects throughout the country. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and also serves as Board Member and Secretary of the Collective Empowerment Group, Inc. of Prince Georges County.

Pastor Mosby is the proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of four. Throughout her journey of life and ministry, Pastor Mosby has relied on one of her favorite passages of Scripture, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct your paths” (Proverbs 3:5-6).
